Summer Days
What a gorgeous day here. Actually we have had an amazing run of wonderful weather. Just beautiful.
I spent the entire day painting today and did not see much of the sun. That is the thing with being self employed, you work when the work needs doing. I am finishing up on the commission for the condiment labels, still more to do, far more work than I thought it would be but interesting and very satisfying ultimately. I have not had much time for my eBay painting and so made sure that I managed to finish one today and get it up.
We are going to Alberta in two weeks for a vacation to visit my brother. I want to have things organized and taken care of before we leave so there is a lot of stuff I have to get done. I would like to have extra paintings finished so I can start some auctions as soon as we get back. That's another thing about self employment.... when you are not working, there is no income.
My brother lives in Red Deer which is halfway between Calgary and Edmonton. My mom and daughter and I are going. The only thing I really want to do is visit Banff. I have never seen the Rockies. We will be at a hotel in the West Edmonton Mall for two nights before we leave. H's idea of heaven. I have yet to be convinced:)

Red Deer should be a wonderful break -- let me know if you think I should try to meet up with you there or in Banff or Edmonton for a day ( if I can). Max and I stayed at the hotel at the W.E. Mall many years ago and although I had anticipated an exotic theme room, it turned out that they weren't available to those with young children. Talk about discrimination!! Anyway, the mall itself is HUGE , but like you say, not really my cup of tea either. Still it's unusual. I hope you do make it to see Banff - it's one of the most spectacularly scenic places in the world. My cousin from England stayed there last August to celebrate her 50th. She has a passion for the Rockies and I always send her a small calendar each Christmas with pictures of the area. Keep up the bright and cheery artwork!!

I absolutely love this. I am getting ready to redo my room and would like to know if you have prints. If so I would love to order, then figure my paint color!!!
